Origin

Chichupak translates to “the place where they produce soap,” rooted in the community’s history of cultivating Achi, a soap-making plant. Nestled 100 kilometers from Coban, the entrance to Chichupak is a scenic journey through pine-lined dirt roads, immersing you in the rich culture and traditions of the locals, who proudly wear their traditional attire. The community’s connection to their ancestry dates back centuries to the time of Rabinal Leb, the King of the Mayan kingdom.
